Install OrderReady and get your first order ready
OrderReady collects the details needed to make a paid WooCommerce order. Start with a test order on a staging copy of your shop.
Install the two packages
- Install WooCommerce and make a backup.
- In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Upload
orderready-1.0.1.zipand activate it. - For Pro, upload and activate
orderready-pro-1.0.0.zipafterwards. Open WooCommerce → OrderReady Pro license and activate your license for this webshop before using Pro. The outer customer-bundle ZIP is not an installable plugin. - Open WooCommerce → OrderReady → Settings & health. Check mail, language, retention and file limits.
- Edit a product and open Product data → OrderReady. Add the files and instructions you need after payment.
Try a complete order
Place an order and confirm payment through your normal payment process. OrderReady invites the customer while the paid order has Processing status. Pending-payment and On hold orders are not invited. Open the private link, save a draft and submit the details. Then open the order in OrderReady, approve the supplied requirements or request an individual correction.
When every required or voluntarily supplied requirement is approved, the collection status becomes Ready for production. The WooCommerce fulfilment status remains under your control. Pro can export approved files and a production sheet in a ZIP.
Automatic reminders
Enable reminders in Pro settings and choose up to five days, for example 2, 5 and 9. Submitted and approved details are excluded. You can pause each order. A late scheduler sends one catch-up message instead of a burst. After the last stage, automatic follow-up ends.
Ask your host to run WordPress cron regularly. Use a reliable transactional mail setup. An “accepted” message means WordPress accepted it, not that it reached the inbox. Three failed sending attempts stop automatic retries; the log helps staff resolve the problem.
Files and hosting
| Requirement | Version 1.0 |
|---|---|
| WordPress / PHP | WordPress 6.6+, PHP 8.1+, single site |
| WooCommerce | 9.0+; standard statuses, classic product editor |
| Hosting | HTTPS, OpenSSL, Fileinfo, writable uploads, MySQL/MariaDB advisory locks |
| ZIP export | PHP ZIP extension and writable PHP temporary storage outside the public website folders |
| Upload types | JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, PDF |
| Limits | 20 requirements per product; 5,000 characters per answer; configurable up to 20 MB/file and 200 MB/order |
| CSV | Up to 10,000 orders per export |
Your hosting may impose lower limits. Ensure PHP post_max_size can accept the combined request and that PHP has enough memory for encryption and ZIP generation. Minimum pixel dimensions are not print-quality approval. No malware scanning, SVG/AI/EPS conversion or PDF preflight is included.
Private links and retention
Customer links are private credentials. Replace a link to invalidate all previous links for that order. Exclude URLs with the orderready parameter from page/CDN caching. Production collection requires HTTPS.
By default, collected details are deleted 90 days after order closure. Active orders are retained unless a shop manager explicitly erases them. Back up both the database and uploads/orderready-private; the database holds the file encryption key. Uninstalling the base plugin retains collected data. WordPress privacy tools export text and file metadata; staff can provide file copies through authorized downloads.
Optional AI
AI is off by default and requires the shop’s own paid OpenAI API account. After staff click the AI button, only their explicitly entered text and writing instructions are sent. Order records and file contents are not automatically attached. Keep personal/confidential information out of the text. Every suggestion needs a human review before sending. The workflow works without AI.
Updates and support
The seller-configured release requires a valid initial license activation for this webshop. After normal cancellation or expiry, previously activated features keep working on that installation; renew for updates and support. Revoked licenses or copied installations require a valid entitlement. License changes take effect after synchronization. Contact nabbe.j82@gmail.com with your plugin, WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions, the steps to reproduce the issue and a redacted screenshot. Do not send customer files or API keys unless a suitable secure process has been agreed.
